The people

Koen de Jong graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (economics and business administration). He successfully held various commercial and general management positions at leading manufacturers of private labels in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the Netherlands. His employers were, consecutively: Dailycer (breakfast cereals), Drie Mollen (coffee and tea), Dalli Werke (detergents, household cleaners, personal care) and Lamb Weston (frozen potato products). Koen de Jong is fluent in English, French, German and Dutch (mother tongue) and has an excellent feel for the cultural characteristics of the various countries within Europe.
Since 2003, he has been working as a consultant for a large number of manufacturers and retailers in Europe. In April 2007, he published the book 'Private Labels in Europe, trends and challenges for retailers and manufacturers'.

Thomas Plakké is a food technologist, graduated from Wageningen University and Research Centre, the Netherlands. He has held various commercial and management positions with KLM Catering Inflight Services, Hazelwood International (chilled convenience) and Nutreco/Marine Harvest SA (aquaculture). He has extensive experience in both the foodservice industry and in retail and has tasted virtually every food item manufactured under the sun. Besides launching innovative concepts, he is an expert in chilled convenience foods and in food and health. Thomas is fluent in English and Dutch (mother tongue) and speaks good German. He is well travelled, as a result of which he has a great ability to put things into perspective and has a great sense of humour.
Since 2003, he has been working as a consultant for various manufacturers, retailers and non-governmental organisations within the EU.

Rody Frequin graduated from the Haarlem Business School and University of West of England in Bristol (International Marketing). She has been working in commercial and sourcing positions with Private Label manufacturers and retailers in the Netherlands. Rody obtained a wide experience with Royal Sanders, Albert Heijn and Etos (both subsidiaries of Ahold) and Vroom & Dreesmann in various management positions.
Rody is strongly committed to developing personal care, cosmetic and OTC/VMS concepts in the food and drug channel. For this she conducts a deep analysis of the buying process and assortment in order to identify opportunities for Private Label.
She is fluent in English, French and German due to her prolonged stay in Manchester and Geneva. Dutch is her native language. As of 2008 she is working as a consultant for various manufacturers, retailers and NGO’s.
